My Majestic Hawk

A lovely day strolling casually down at the Clifton Springs jetty, hardly anyone around, nice soft breeze and beautiful clear blue skies... another blissful day in paradise @Life On The Bellarine!

In the distance I noticed a small bird sitting on the rocks. I had no idea what type of bird it was, as it was too far away to identify. Out came my trusty Nikon Coolpix camera with incredible zoom capacity, and I was in awe with what I saw! Standing there so peacefully, gazing out to the waters was the most Majestic Hawk I have ever seen!
I didn't want to scare it off, as here and now was my opportunity to attempt some photos.
Each step forward that I took, I captured him in a photo, since I was worried he would see me coming closer and fly away!
Another step closer - another photo! And another! And another! This went on for a while... more than 20 steps and I was getting closer. I knew I had reached my limits when he kept looking at me, so there and then I took plenty photos and hoped for the best!

Playing back the photos I was immensely surprised! Here I was with a new camera, learning how to use it, and the photos were stunning!! It felt so good! It re-affirmed my passion for photography and my love for all the beauty that surrounds me.

Here is one of my favourite images of "My Hawk" looking at me somewhat approvingly don't you agree?

I'm loving and appreciating all the wonderful feedback and support - Thank-you.
